The Biltmore Hotel

If you want an authentic stay in the best neighborhood of Baltimore with a small budget. I recommend strongly recommend this place. The building is old fashioned and very beautiful the view of cathedral is amazing. Yes it is old, floors can be a bit squeaking but whole thing is very nice. Everything in the room was super clean. Beddings, towels, shower curtains are all super clean. Also it was good that there was extra comforter and pillows just in case. the room with the fireplace and the old fashioned furniture was awesome. The internet and the cable was really good, a day before My girlfriend and I stayed in an airport hotel their internet and TV were both bad for higher price. the staff are really friendly. there is only street parking available but it was really easy to find a spot close to the hotel. the price was good for all. I will stay here the next time.

Clean, well-priced, and comfortable. There's honestly nothing bad about this hotel as far as we were concerned. Not sure what all the bad reviews are talking about. Lady at the desk was friendly. Things to keep in mind however that may be inconvenient or otherwise unacceptable for some (others have mentioned these): - no elevator to the upper levels - older facilities, some paint chipping and wall damage (honestly didn't notice this until I looked for it). Feels more like I'm spending a night at my grandma's place basically, not a hotel - use their own website to book! We used priceline and it was slightly more expensive Overall, would definitely not mind coming back in the future.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this 2-star hotel, which is apparently a remodeled Victorian home, given the meager $80 per night that I payed. The staff was kind to me, allowing me to check-in a couple hours early without incurring a fee, for example. The room was also clean. Soap and shampoo is included in small packets next to the shower, although I ran-out of the shampoo after the second day. I withhold one star because there were some strange noises that contributed to my insomnia one night. Also, there's no elevator in the hotel, and although I personally didn't mind having to walk 4 flights of stairs to my room, I see how that might be a problem for older patrons.

We just recently stayed here this past weekend June 9-11 for HomebrewCon. We mainly booked this because we could use some southwest points and the price was right. I was a little worried about this place after some mix reviews. We actually arrived around 9am and were just planning to drop off our luggage before check in but the lady there was able to let us check in early for extra $25, which was a no brainer. She was friendly. We were on the 3rd floor. Reading the reviews I was warned about the stairs. So i was fully prepared to walk my luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Going to win the weekly fit bit step contest this week!!! I was actually kind of charming and different. If you are someone who can't walk 3 flights of stairs you probably do not want to stay here. The room itself was clean..no surprises. It was old but comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Fridge and microwave worked. Bathroom was clean. Did have a bit of an odd musky smell but it wasn't offensive. If you are really sensitive to smells you might not like this place. My only complaint was the shower didn't ever get really hot. It got warm enough to take a quick shower but never hot to steam up the whole bathroom. TV had plenty of channels if that is important to you. We were basically only there to crash each night The area itself in the Mt. Vernon area was nice. Had some nice little hole in the wall spots for breakfast and lunch. I felt safe walking around. We were able to get an Uber within 5 minutes the whole time we were in Baltimore at all times of the day and night. Most the Uber drivers said they actually lived around the block. It was $5 trip each way to the convention center. We did walk one time in the morning with no problems. It is urban so you will see an occasional homeless person but never felt unsafe. I would probably not walk it at night but I would say the same in any urban downtown I stay in. Hotel does promote a breakfast but expect some breakfast bars and apple as your options. Overall it was fine experience. Beds were comfortable. Cool old building. If you looking to be pampered by staff and have a more modern hotel this isn't it but if you need a place to sleep for the night at a good rate and don't mind a little exercise this is your place.

This place is not you usual hotel. The decor is dated and the layout is from long ago. The rooms have been modified for AC. Some of the rooms have a balcony/porch overlooking the courtyard. Some rooms have a secondary living room. The staff is friendly. Economical.

Location was good mount Vernon district. Parking is at the hospital parking lot a block away. Front desk people were nice. Easy check in and out. Rooms were clean. Keep in mind it's an old building, no elevator.

Loved this hotel. Spacious suite. Comfy bed and pillows. Good water pressure. Pleasant staff. Excellent wifi. Great price point. Cool atmosphere. Safe neighborhood. There are no elevators. So if that is important to you or you are mobility impaired this is not suitable. This is an older property decked out with orphan "antiques". It's a bargain if you like a hotel with atmosphere.

It had charm. If your looking for something updated it is not for you. I enjoyed receiving actual keys to the room. It was clean and fairly quiet. It is odd to be buzzed it. The women at the desk was not the friendliest but the two gentlemen whom I meet later were genuinely nice. The only that bothered me was the smell of the carpet freshener. I stayed one night and I would recommend it for travelers. We were out most of the time being tourist.
